Alongside the great German magician Alexander Adrion, Wittus Witt was the first to regularly go public with exhibitions on the art of magic as early as the 1970s. Over the years, Witt was able to curate around 40 magic exhibitions – always with the hope of founding his own museum one day.

On December 18th, 2022, the time had come: the first public museum with regular opening hours on the cutural history of magic was opened in the middle of Hamburg.

Magic Museum Bellachini at Hansaplatz 8, 20099 Hamburg, right next to the Schauspielhaus, behind the main railway station.

The centrepiece is formed by historic and rare magic boxes from the Wittus Witt collection, which have been listed several times in the Guinness Book of Records.

Some tricks and magic devices can be tried out for yourself.

For over 30 years, the renowned magician and author Wittus Witt has collected material on the art of magic and published it in several publications.
